[.] This is the voice of CRS.
[.] As a NOAA Weather Radio listener, you are probably aware that the National Weather Service has been undergoing a major modernization program, for the past several years.
[.] Modernization is designed to improve our ability to provide more timely and accurate weather warnings and forecasts.
[.] An example of the new modernized technology, is the high resolution Doppler radar, now in use at our offices.
[.] Another part of the continuing modernization, includes the installation of new broadcast equipment, to automate our NOAA Wehtaher Radio system.
[.] This system is called the Console Replacement System, or CRS.
[.] CRS is a computer-based broadcasting console, that automatically translates written National Weather Service forecasts and warnings, into synthesized voice for broadcast.
[.] CRS broadcasts critical warnings and emergency information, faster than ever before!
[.] Since the time-consuming process of manual broadcast recording for transmitters, is eliminated, weather office staff will be able to concentrate on other critical functions.
[.] Those functions include monitoring the radar, analyzing storms, and providing you the latest and most accurate weather information.
